RESCO Acknowledged in “Best Workplace in the Americas” 2010 Competition
Hudson, WI – January, 2011 RESCO of Hudson, Wisconsin has been acknowledged as a Best Workplace in the Americas by PIA/GATF, for their exemplary human resources practices.
There are approximately 36,000 printing companies in the United States, of which only 35, less than a tenth of 1%, were chosen as Best Workplaces in the Americas, a designation from The Printing Industry of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.
Begun to specifically honor printing companies that provide a superior work environment, this year marks the tenth year of the Best Workplace in the Americas program. During those ten years, RESCO (and formerly RPG) have been acknowledged eight times. In the eight years of being acknowledged, RESCO was selected on three of those years for the highest honor granted to approximately 15 or 16 companies a year nationwide as a “Best of the Best Workplaces in the Americas.”
A panel of HR professionals with experience in the graphic arts industry reviewed the submissions. Applicants were judged on eight criteria: Management Practices; Work Environment; Training and Development Opportunities; Financial Security; Workplace Health and Safety; Work-Life Balance; Recognition and Rewards; and Health and Wellness Programs. Like other winning companies, RESCO has also actively shown their employees that they care about their work environment, their personal goals and ambitions, as well as the needs of the company.
“It’s really an honor to be recognized within our industry as a company that offers a workplace environment where our employees can thrive. It has always been our philosophy to treat our employees as our most valuable asset. We make a good living in Hudson and within our industries that we serve; because of that, it’s always important to give back to the employees and to our community. Our Human Resource Manager, Karen Homeier, did a great job of chronicling all the things we do with, for, and on behalf of our employees and within the community to complete our application this year,” said Company President, John Knutson.
Michael Makin, President and CEO of PIA/GATF, agrees. “Best Workplace winners routinely exhibit the highest commitment to success in many ways, but particularly through their employees. Congratulations to RESCO!”
