Pittsburgh, PA, November, 2009—Printing Industries of America and the Digital Printing Council are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009 web2awards. In its inaugural year, the web2awards are the industry’s first and only contest established for printing industry websites worldwide.
“These awards highlight the role the Internet has come to play in the printing industry. By recognizing excellence in print-related websites, the Digital Printing Council helps to encourage each printer’s advancement in doing some portion of their business in the ‘cloud,’” said Julie Shaffer, vice president, digital technologies for Printing Industries of America.
An independent panel of judges deliberated over print-centric websites and evaluated each website’s entire experience. “I was impressed with the quality and diversity of the entries. Overall they demonstrated how they are embracing the Web and using it as a tool to advance their print-related business,” commented one of this year’s judges.
RESCO’s entry; the Dole Print on Demand site was chosen from 49 entries internationally. Judges commented on the creative graphics, ease of use, and simplicity of the site navigation as reasons for choosing it as the winning entry. To see the site, visit: www.doleprintondemand.com.
The winners were presented their prestigious awards at the 2009 Converge Conference, on November 8, 2009, in Orlando, Florida. For a full listing of all award winners, please visit www.printing.org/web2awards. For more information on RESCO, contact John Knutson at 715-386-7300.
