RESCO Gains Green Certification

RESCO completed a certification in the Great Printer Environmental Initiative. This is a certification program for printers administered through the Printing Industry of Minnesota, Inc.

Greater Printer Environmental InitiativeThe Great Printer Environmental Initiative is the country’s longest-running certification program exclusively for printers. Members go through an audit process which assures compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety requirements. In addition to passing the audit, members must commit to the program standards and complete ongoing projects in subsequent years which go beyond compliance by minimizing waste, reusing or recycling waste and increasing energy efficiency. There are currently 48 Great Printers in the program, which started in 1997. This is a voluntary program aimed at increasing environmental, health and safety compliance and pollution prevention within the printing industry.

RESCO has implemented several recycling and energy conservation projects and continues to explore additional ways to increase recycling and conserve energy in their operation. “We are happy to be a member of the Great Printer program. This certification demonstrates RESCO’s commitment to go beyond what is required by regulatory agencies in environmental, health and safety,” says President John Knutson. RESCO is a full-service printer serving clients nationwide, and has been in operation since 1989.
